I loved this topic for a lot of reasons, especially the idea of “joy purchases,” which is one I would love to embrace. I cannot think of anything I have bought that I enjoyed guilt-free. There always needs to be a justification, a practical reason, a real need to fill. I need to work on that.
Oh, I get this. I keep saying we need to meet with a real live financial advisor so I can try to address my anxiety about my financial future. And yet, every now and then I have these WTF moments when I just go for it on something big and awesome. And I do my best to just enjoy it, not second-guess it :)
I use to listen to both those albums also. My older sister bought the Elton John and my brother Styx.
My purchase is taking time to get Pho when I’m home for my day off.
That's a nice ritual :)
That is a fine "joy purchase" indeed! (I caught Elton at Shoreline way back in the late '80s, :-o!
The Bridge appearance was at Shoreline too, but it just wasn't the real Elton experience!
