Since I more or less gave up Facebook this year I want to send out an email to friends and family 2x a month with personal news and musings, just to keep in touch.
That's really how I mostly think about this newsletter...it's a small list, and I care much more about its role as a connection channel vs. a personal branding or marketing one.
BTW, I'm trying an app called Strides for forming and sustaining habits, and so far I'm liking it. I downloaded quite a number of them and didn't get past initial set-up, so that's something.
Okay, I want to do the following: 1)Publish my newsletter, cover your bases (susanmernit.substack.com) consistently once a week; 2) Get out and hike more, especially Briones Regional Park, where I want to hike at least 6 times by March 1, 2021.
Good ones! what tools do you use to support achieving these? For example, I block out times in my calendar to do research/organization for my podcast/newsletter each week, and the time to write/record them. If I need to move the time block I can, but it reminds me to not just assume it happens by magic. Also, since 6 times in 2 months is a nice big goal, are you scheduling those all ahead of times, or...?
Haha. Goal 3 is due Saturday at 9pm. I’m working on it. It’s going ok. Creativity is hard but I’m learning that just thinking about it is not helpful. Creating something is helpful.
I have a question: Do you consider yourself more introverted or extroverted? Because Extroverts externally process and getting things out of them (writing drafts, talking through ideas) is super helpful to them, more so than introverts where thinking and ruminating on things can be productive. (As it is for me...I think through things for days, then I can sit down and write an article in an hour because it's nearly done in my head.)
By that definition and most, extrovert. I think through things for days and come up with too many other ideas and not following through on any. So getting something down commits me.

I'm taking an 8 week online class with homework. I have 8 goals: To turn in each of the homework assignments on time! Just finished the 1st.
OK, I now know you completed goal #2 to great acclaim...how's goal #3 going? :)

And then I have something to build on.
Congrats on completing goal #1! And what day is goal #2 due?
